Project Name:  Development and Communications Associate

Contribute to Puente's insitutional capacity in fundraising, outreach, and communications and build skills in non-profit management.



  • Generate and moderate newsletter/social media/website content
    • Produce podcast – blog – webinars – etc.
  • Manage communications and social media calendar
  • Implement a strategy to grow the newsletter mailing list
  • Track engagement across online platforms


  • Co-construct and implement an innovative strategy to increase individual giving
    • Maintain eTapestry donor database
    • Generate periodic reports analyzing data trends
    • Research existing database constituents
    • Identify and research donor prospects
    • Write and send thank you letters
    • Manage donor engagement pyramid
  • Research grant opportunties
  • Manage grants calendar and relevant M&E information needed for reports
  • Maintain up-to-date physical and digital filing of grants in line with grants filing system


  • Plan events such as Amaranth Day, San Francisco-Bay area fundraising event, chefs/artist fundraising event in Oaxaca, Lucha Libre fundraising event in Oaxaca
  • Community engagement
  • Assist in planning visitor and group field visits
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Proactive and motivated to make a difference

  • Excellent writing skills
  • Preferred experience in managing online social media and digital platforms and/or online databases such as eTapestry and Razor's Edge
